Dates and Times:

In the second semester of 2023, there will be two Language Boost for Teachers courses available:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 13.00 to 14.00
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 21.30 to 22.30

The course:

This is a one-semester language development course for English teachers who are at a C1 or C2 level, but are not interested in preparing for exams at the moment. The course comprises

  • 40 hours of synchronous, online lessons via Zoom.
  • Focus on helping you further develop your speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in English, all at advanced level.
  • A book club – we will read and discuss 3 books during the semester.

The lessons are live, but they are all recorded and will be available for 7 days for participants in case they miss any lessons.

*The objective of the course is not to cover the whole book. We will use several of the units and topics and lots of extra material.

  • August 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31;
  • September 5, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28;
  • October 3, 5, 10, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31;
  • November 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30;
  • December 5, 7, 12, 14.

Apart from the dates above, three lessons will be made available only as recordings (i.e. they will not be live/synchronous)

Technical requirements:

Every course participant must have:

  • A computer connected to the internet (avoid using tablets or mobile phones), equipped with a camera and a microphone;
  • A Gmail account to watch recordings;
  • Broadband connection to the internet (at least 10 Mbps).

  • Every group must have at least five participants, and a maximum of ten;
  • Classes are recorded and are available for course participants for 7 days;
  • It is vital that participants do homework assignments diligently, and that they dedicate around 2-4 hours a week (apart from classes) to do course-related work;
  • Participants must be at least at a C1 level to take part in the course.
