Listening was discussed in the January edition of the Teaching Boost, and now we’ll do a little revision of what was discussed in that session and then talk about some more… advanced features of teaching listening comprehension.

In this session, we’ll discuss top-down, bottom-up, and integrated approaches to the teaching of listening skills. We’re also going to discuss phonology for listening, when to pre-teach vocabulary, and how to use authentic materials to teach listening skills, both in class and as homework.
